Randall Colburn has seen his plays produced at such theaters as Writers’ Theatre, InFusion Theatre Company, The Mammals Theatre Company, Barefoot Theater Company, and The Right Brain Project, who dedicated their 2010 season to his work. He is the recipient of an Individual Artist Grant from the Illinois Arts Council and a finalist for the Laurents-Hatcher Foundation Award, the JAW Festival, the O’Neill National Playwrights Conference, the Alliance Theatre’s Kendeda Graduate Playwright Competition, and the New York Summer Play Fest. Randall has been commissioned by InFusion Theatre Company and Writers’ Theatre and has developed plays with companies including Playwright’s Horizons, the Public Theatre, the Alliance Theatre, Stage Left Theatre Company and Chicago Dramatists, where he is also a resident playwright. As a member of Chicago’s burgeoning Live Lit scene, he has written and performed stories for The Paper Machete, Mortified, Guts and Glory, You’re Being Ridiculous, and Story Club. In addition, Randall is a staff writer for Consequence of Sound and is featured in the hit documentary BEST WORST MOVIE. He received his MFA in playwriting from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.
